Components of installation of the vacuum amplifier of brakes


The servo-driver of the vacuum amplifier of brakes does not need regular service, except for periodic checks of a condition of a vacuum hose. Components of installation of the vacuum amplifier of brakes are given on an illustration above.

Check of serviceability of functioning of the vacuum amplifier

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Without starting the engine, several times squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake. Make sure of lack of changes in the size of the reserve course of a pedal (see the Section Adjustment of a Pedal of a Foot Brake).
2. Holding a pedal of squeezed out, start the engine. If right after start the pedal slightly "fails", therefore, the vacuum amplifier of brakes works regularly.

Check of tightness of the vacuum amplifier

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Start the engine for a couple of minutes, then muffle. Several times slowly squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake. If the pedal course with each squeezing is gradually reduced, being stabilized on the third or fourth muscleman, so tightness of assembly of the vacuum amplifier is not broken.
2. Squeeze out a pedal of a foot brake at the working engine. Holding a pedal of squeezed out, kill the engine. If 30 seconds of keeping of the pedal pressed its reserve course later does not change, therefore, tightness of assembly of the vacuum amplifier is not broken.

Check of the hydraulic amplifier

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check completeness of a charge of the rechargeable battery.
2. At the switched-off ignition press a brake pedal not less than 4 times.

In process of pressure decrease in system the course of a pedal will decrease, and ongoing effort – to increase.

3. Install manometers and the measuring instrument of effort (address an accompanying illustration) and pump over the brake system (see the Section Adjustment of a Pedal of a Foot Brake).
4. At the idle hydraulic amplifier of brakes press a brake pedal with effort 245 N. Davleniye in a contour of forward brakes there have to be more than 14.5 bars, and in a contour of back brakes – ulevy. Increase effort of pressing to 343 N, at the same time pressure in a contour of forward brakes has to be more than 20.6 bars, and in a contour of back brakes – zero.
5. At the working hydraulic amplifier of brakes include ignition and wait until the pump of the hydraulic block ceases to work. Press a brake pedal with effort 49 N. Davleniye in a contour of forward brakes there have to be 13 – 25 bars, and in a contour of back brakes of 16 - 28 bars. Increase effort of pressing to 98 N, at the same time pressure in a contour of forward brakes has to be 32 – 45 bars, and in a contour of back brakes – 35 – 47 bars. Increase effort of pressing to 147 N, at the same time pressure in a contour of forward brakes has to be 53 – 65 bars, and in a contour of back brakes – 55 – 67 bars. Increase effort of pressing to 196 N, at the same time pressure in a contour of forward brakes has to be 72 – 84 bars, and in a contour of back brakes – 75 – 87 bars.

Removal of the vacuum amplifier

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. The block of the vacuum amplifier of brakes is not subject to recovery repair and in case of refusal has to be replaced assembled.
2. Disconnect the vacuum hose brought to the amplifier from the inlet pipeline of the engine. Try not to damage a hose, removing it from the union on assembly of the amplifier.
3. Give fixing nuts and carefully remove from assembly of the vacuum amplifier the main brake cylinder (see the Section Removal and installation of the main brake cylinder (MBC)), try not to allow bending and twisting of hydraulic lines.
4. In interior of the car find knot of connection of a rod of a pusher of the vacuum amplifier to a pedal of a foot brake, – (in case of need use a pocket small lamp). At first disconnect a returnable spring, then take the forelock, release a cylindrical pin and disconnect a cutting finger of a pusher from the pedal lever.
5. From salon at the left under the dashboard give four nuts of fastening of assembly of the vacuum amplifier to a partition of a motive compartment (address an accompanying illustration), – in case of need use a pocket small lamp.
6. Pass into a motive compartment and remove assembly of the vacuum amplifier from a back partition. Pull assembly strictly on an axis of its installation before full release of a rod of a pusher. Take assembly from a motive compartment.

Installation and adjustment of the vacuum amplifier

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Installation is made upside-down. Tighten all fixture with the required effort. Do not forget to replace the forelock of a pin of fastening of a rod of a pusher to a pedal. Track reliability of fixing of a returnable spring.
2. When replacing the vacuum amplifier make check/adjustment of the adjusting sizes:
   a. Measure pusher vystupaniye size over the surface of assembly of the vacuum amplifier interfaced to GTTs (address an illustration). Write down result of measurement, having designated it as the size "A";
   b. Measure distance from the interfaced surface of a landing flange to GTTs end face (address an illustration). Write down result of measurement, having designated it as the size "B";
   c. Measure distance from GTTs end face to the bottom of a pocket in the piston under landing of a rod of a pusher (address an illustration). Write down result of measurement, having designated it as the size "C";
   d. For receiving a landing gap of a rod of a pusher subtract the size B from the size C, then subtract from the received result the size A (address an illustration);
   e. Compare result of calculation to requirements of Specifications, in case of need make the corresponding adjustment of length of a pusher (see further). If the size A appears less than depth of a pocket in the GTTs piston (With – In), the rod needs to be truncated, otherwise – to extend.
3. If the size of a landing gap exceeds the limit of admissible range, weaken the gear nozzle equipped with a notch on the end of a rod and rotation of an adjusting core achieve the required result (address an accompanying illustration). Having finished adjustment, strongly tighten a lock-nut and repeat check.
4. Establish into place in GTTs and connect a vacuum hose to assembly of the vacuum amplifier. Track reliability of tightening of a collar of fastening of a hose on the reception union.
5. Adjust the adjusting height and size of a free wheeling of a pedal of a foot brake (see the Section Adjustment of a Pedal of a Foot Brake).
6. Before starting operation of the car make sure of serviceability of functioning of the brake system.
